BAMMA today announces another bout for the BAMMA 24 fight card to be held at the 3Arena Dublin, Ireland on the 27th February 2016. In a titanic Bantamweight clash, Northern Ireland’s Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott meets Nathaniel ‘The Prospect’ Wood for the vacant BAMMA Bantamweight Title. Other bouts announced are as follows:

  • Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott Vs. Nathaniel ‘The Prospect’ Wood
  • Mick ‘Basher’ Brennan vs. Brian ‘The Pikeman’ Moore
  • Gerrard Gilmore Vs. James Gallagher

Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott Vs. Nathaniel ‘The Prospect’ Wood (Lonsdale Bantamweight Title)

Despite his young age, Alan ‘The Apprentice’ Philpott (14-7) is considered a veteran in Mixed Martial Arts with 21 pro fights under his belt. Last seen at BAMMA 22 in September, Philpott derailed the rise of Regis ‘The First’ Sugden in handing him his first pro loss. Now Philpott gets another rising star in the BAMMA Bantamweight ranks in the shape of Nathaniel Wood, and will be looking to be crowned the new Lonsdale Champion.

Nathaniel ‘The Prospect’ Wood (8-2) walked out of BAMMA 23: Night Of Champions with his hand raised for the first time on a BAMMA event. In a very mature performance from the young London based fighter, he took the decision over a very game Bryan ‘The Big Bad Wolf’ Creighton to secure his shot at the Lonsdale title. Training out of Nova Forca & Team Titan, Wood will be looking to make a big statement in this fight and become the holder of the Lonsdale belt.

Mick ‘Basher’ Brennan Vs. Brian ‘The Pikeman’ Moore (Featherweight Bout)

Mick ‘Basher’ Brennan (4-6) from Sully’s Gym, Kilkenny Ireland was due to make his first appearance at a BAMMA 23 against Mike Grundy. However, due to an injury to Grundy, the bout was cancelled. The former training partner of ‘Magic’ Myles Price now gets his chance once more at BAMMA 24, this time against Moore.The all round MMA fighter has already competed against the likes of BAMMA 22’s Sean Tobin and Stephen Coll.

Popular Wexford fighter Brian ‘The Pikeman’ Moore (8-4) trains out of SBGi and makes his BAMMA Debut at the 3Arena on February 27th, off the back of a win against Tommy McCafferty via a 3rd Submission. The accomplished fighter has the majority of his wins via submission and will be planning to add Brennan to that list come fight night.

Gerard Gilmore Vs. James Gallagher (Featherweight Bout)

Gerard Gilmore ​(​​2-1) made​ ​his BAMMA debut at BAMMA 22 where he came up short against Alex Liete in September. Fighting out of Chum Sut in Northern Ireland, Gilmore will be eager to​ put things right against the opponent he was originally scheduled to meet at BAMMA 22.

James Gallagher (​1-0)​ ​now gets to​ make​ his BAMMA​ ​​debut after suffering an unfortunate injury in the weeks leading up to BAMMA 22​. Fighting out of SBG, the Strabane based fighter will be looking to ​advance after winning his pro debut recently.
