Decky ‘The Diamond’ Dalton Vs. Jonathan Brookins (Featherweight Bout)
Decky ‘The Diamond’ Dalton (6-2) is a cult hero on the Irish fighting scene. He fought at BAMMA 24, controlling a tough bout to beat Mike ‘Gip’ Cutting on the way to a dominant decision victory. Having recently singed on the dotted line with the promotion, there are great expectations around Dalton and he immediately comes up against a big name in the shape of his opponent Jonathan Brookins. Many are already suggesting that if Decky defeats the wily veteran Brookins, then a title shot cannot be too far away.
“It’s an honour to share the cage with a former TUF winner and UFC vet. But nobody is coming to my hometown and getting the win. Even when I lose people still go to the hospital! So Brookins is in for a long night either way. I belong at the highest level and with BAMMA that is where I am now!”
Jonathan Brookins (15-10) is well known to the international MMA audience, after winning season 12 of TUF. The Florida native now trains out of Oslo, Norway at Frontline Academy under Eduardo Rios. The Brazilian Ju-Jitsu Purple belt has fought all over the world and now makes his BAMMA promotional debut against Dalton. Expect a partisan crowd, expect excitement and rest assured that this will be one of the fights of the night come 24th February at the SSE Arena, Belfast.
