ONE Championship today announced two world title fights for next year.
January 20th in Jakarta will see an inaugural women’ strawweight world championship bout between Tiffany Teo from Singapore and Xiong Jing Nan from China.
Tiffany Teo is currently 7-0, she defeated Puja Tomas in November, she has fought at Flyweight and bantamweight in the past and will be looking to continue her undefeated run, while Xiong Jing Nan is 10-1 and defeated April Osensio this month. Jing Nan has also fought at Flyweight and catchweight of 132 pounds.
The other big fight announced is the return of two weight world champion Martin Nguyen.
Nguyen is to face bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes on March 24th in Bangkok in a champion v champion bout.
It is yet to be announced if this will see Nguyen fight for third world title in the space of a year having added the lightweight championship to his Featherweight belt last month or if Fernandes will be moving up in weight.
The experienced Fernandes is on a 13 fight win streak with a record of 21-3 while Nguyen has a record of 11-1 with a current win streak of 6.
