The Lions of England – featuring BAMMA veterans Jeremy Petley and Curt Warburton

European MMA has been graced with many warriors that have proven themselves on many of the top stages throughout Europe over the years. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet two English fan favourites who are always up for a good fight no matter what the challenge is.

Jeremy Petley – A professional since March 2010 and representing London Fight Factory, Jeremy Petley owns a 12-8-1 record in 20 career bouts consisting of six decisions, four submissions two knockouts and a draw. Petley has spent the majority of his professional career with BAMMA and has competed for Bellator MMA twice. In his MMA debut, Petley defeated Liam Bucko via TKO in the first round. Then he defeated Steve Cooke via unanimous decision. At Sprawl and Shoot 2, Petley submitted Karim Kondua in the first round via rear naked choke. In his BAMMA debut at BAMMA 5 he tapped out Frankie Salter via armbar in the first round. Petley defeated Joe Holder via unanimous decision. He defeated his next two opponents in Dom Clark and Bartlomiej Kopera. In his next outing with BAMMA at BAMMA 10, Petley submitted Dyson Roberts via rear naked choke in the second round. He followed this up with a unanimous decision victory over Richie Downes at BAMMA 11. Petley defeated Martin Wilby via TKO in round two at Made 4 the Cage 12. In his Bellator MMA debut at Bellator 179, he defeated Chase Morton via unanimous decision. Petley also defeated Lewis Monarch via split decision in his next outing with Bellator MMA at Bellator 191. With 20 professional contests under his belt this crafty English MMA veteran has certainly shown throughout his career that he has all the tools of the trade to hang with the best!

Curt Warburton –A professional since May 2007 and representing SBG South Shields,  Curt Warburton owns a 14-6 record in 20 career bouts consisting of five knockouts, five decisions and four submissions. Warburton has competed for several promotions across Europe including BAMMA and Cage Warriors. Warburton is also a three-time veteran of the UFC. In his MMA debut, he defeated Mark Mills via TKO in round one. Warburton defeated his next three opponents which included wins over Jamie Mckenzie and TUF 9 winner Ross Pearson. Then he submitted Toon Van Thielen in the first round via guillotine choke. Warburton defeated Tom Maguire via unanimous decision at Strike And Submit 12. In his second outing with the UFC at UFC 127, he defeated Poland’s Maciej Jewtuszko via unanimous decision. He also defeated Tim Newman via unanimous decision in his BAMMA debut at BAMMA 8. Warburton tapped out his next two opponents in Declan Larkin and Artur Sowinski. In his second outing with BAMMA at BAMMA 10, he defeated Lee Wieczorek via unanimous decision. Warburton also defeated Steven Ray via unanimous decision at BAMMA 12. In his Cage Warriors debut at Cage Warriors 62, he tapped out Wesley Murch in the first round via rear naked choke. Warburton returned to the BAMMA cage to face Warren Kee at BAMMA 33 and defeated him via TKO in round one. The man they call ”The War” has always delivered the action throughout his illustrious professional career!
